MEMPHIS, Tennessee – Memphis 901 FC’s postponed match against Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC has been rescheduled for Tuesday, September 24 at 7:00 p.m. at AutoZone Park.
The match on May 18 was postponed after the first half of play due to inclement weather in the area. It will be replayed in its entirety September 24.
Season ticket holders that had a ticket or tickets to the original match on May 18 will receive their same seat(s) for this rescheduled match. All other fans that had a ticket or tickets to the original match on May 18 can exchange their ticket(s) of equal value including this rescheduled match once individual tickets are available.
Memphis plays in the third round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup tomorrow against Hartford Athletic at the Mike Rose Soccer Complex starting at 7:00 p.m.
Tickets for that match are available for purchase starting at just $15.
Proceeds from the match benefit Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital Neuroscience Institute through donations to River-City for Itty-Bitties (RIBS) and John Talley’s Pediatric Neurological Research Fund.
Both RIBS and John Talley’s fund have deep ties to the Memphis soccer community. RIBS’ annual adult soccer tournament and 5K benefit causes that are dear to the hearts of Greater Memphis Soccer Association supporters Jason and Jessica Vinson, who lost their infant daughter after a premature birth and whose nine-year old daughter, Kayden battles epilepsy and receives treatment at Le Bonheur.
John Talley was the General Manager of the Mike Rose Soccer Complex, which was started with the goal to provide better fields and better opportunities for children to play soccer in Shelby County. After his death from cancer in 2002, his son, Carey, started a fund at Le Bonheur that has helped raise over $140,000 since its inception.
