MEMPHIS, Tennessee – Memphis 901 FC returns to AutoZone Park tomorrow for the first time since Aug. 10 to host Swope Park Rangers at 7:00 p.m.
901 FC was scheduled to play Monday at Charleston Battery in a rescheduled match from earlier this season, but the game was postponed again due to a mandatory evacuation warning issued by the City of Charleston ahead of the potential arrival of Hurricane Dorian.
In Memphis' last outing on Wednesday, Aug. 28 at Atlanta United 2, Adam Najem scored twice within four minutes, turning a 1-0 deficit into a 2-1 lead as 901 FC snapped a three-match losing streak. He scored the equalizer in the 79th minute and then the game-winner in the 83rd minute, giving Memphis a two-goal performance for the first time since Brandon Allen against New York Red Bulls II on July 20.
For his efforts, Najem was named to the USL Championship Team of the Week for Week 26 of the regular season.
Memphis and Swope Park played to a 2-2 draw earlier this season in Kansas City on May 22. Triston Hodge scored the equalizer on a header in the 73rd minute off a Cam Lindley set piece, after Dan Metzger scored in the 3rd minute off a Marc Burch corner kick. The draw at Swope Park extended Memphis' unbeaten streak to four-straight matches in all competitions at the time.
After Saturday, 901 FC hits the road to face Loudoun United FC next Friday, Sept. 13, before returning to AutoZone Park for three-straight matches against Saint Louis FC (Sept. 21), Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC (Sept. 24), and Bethlehem Steel FC (Sept. 28).
