Midfielder Scored Twice Late in Memphis’ Win at Atlanta United 2

MEMPHIS, Tennessee – Memphis 901 FC midfielder Adam Najem has been named to the USL Championship Team of the Week for Week 26 of the regular season after his two-goal performance at Atlanta United 2 last Wednesday.

With 901 FC trailing Atlanta 1-0 midway through the second half, Najem scored the equalizer in the 79th minute and then the game-winner in the 83rd minute to help Memphis pick up a 2-1 come-from-behind win. Najem first took a beautiful pass from Josh Morton in the middle of the box and used a couple of dribbles before depositing Memphis’ opening goal of the night, and just four minutes later he knocked home a rebound off the Atlanta keeper to put 901 FC ahead for good.

The victory snapped 901 FC’s three-match losing streak, and Memphis jumped two teams in the USL Championship Eastern Conference standings with the triumph.

Najem joins 901 FC teammates Elliot Collier (Week 2, Week 18), Wes Charpie (Week 3), Duane Muckette (Week 10), and Brandon Allen (Week 20) in earning league recognition this season.

901 FC returns to AutoZone Park on Saturday for the first time since Aug. 10 for a 7:00 p.m. match against Swope Park Rangers.
