NASHVILLE, Tennessee –Tennessee’s pro soccer clubs meet for the first time Saturday in Nashville as Memphis 901 FC travels to take on rival Nashville SC.
Kickoff is slated for 7:00 p.m. inside First Tennessee Park.
For Memphis, the club will be looking for another win against a playoff contender Saturday in its inaugural season.
Memphis’ only win of the season came on the road, a 1-0 result against Bethlehem Steel FC. Memphis aims to bounce back after a narrow 1-0 loss to Atlanta United 2 on Wednesday.
Despite the loss, Memphis (1-3-2, 5 pts) remains one of the top defensive teams in the USL Championship. The club has conceded just seven goals in six matches, has a shutout win and just one goal has made the difference in all six matches this season.
The club is led offensively by defender and team captain Marc Burch, who has two goals on the season.
Memphis has also earned four of its five points this season on the road but will face another tough test Saturday.
This will be the first of two meetings in the rivalry with a Nashville SC club that has stacked up on talent. Leading the way for Nashville (2-1-1, 7 pts) is Daniel Ríos, who has a team-high four goals on the season.
A win Saturday would earn a crucial three points for both squads looking to be Top 10 mainstays in the Eastern Conference. Memphis is currently 12th in the East, just a point back from a Top 10.
Following Saturday’ match, Memphis will return to Memphis for its bye week before resuming action April 27 against the Charleston Battery at AutoZone Park. Tickets for that match are on sale now.
Season tickets, group tickets, and 7 Match Flex Plans are also available, with full season tickets starting at just $10 per match. Call (901) 721-6000 or go to https://www.memphis901fc.com/tickets for more information on all ticket options.
