As the first player added to the Memphis 901 FC 2020 roster, Zach Carroll on Jan. 13. With him, Carroll brings four years of USL Championship experience to the squad.

Drafted with the 38th overall pick in the 2016 MLS SuperDraft, the defender got his start with New York Red Bulls II in 2016. He spent the 2017 campaign with Orlando City B and then Reno 1868 FC in 2018-19. Carroll found the back of the net for the first time as a professional on April 19, 2017, at Harrisburg City. In his USL Championship career, Carroll has scored five goals and tallied eight points.

Carroll played collegiately at powerhouses Virginia and Michigan State. He appeared in 24 games with 22 starts at center back in his two seasons with the Cavaliers and helped them to a semifinal appearance in the 2013 NCAA Tournament. Carroll transferred to Michigan State University for his final two collegiate seasons (2014-15). In 2014 he finished among the top 10 in goals scored in the Big 10 with five and was named Second Team NSCAA All-Region. In his final collegiate season, Carroll garnered First-Team All-Big 10 honors and was named Academic All-Big 10.
