New Faces
New Faces
A lot has changed since the last time Memphis 901 FC has been at home, especially the roster. Memphis has added three players since its last home match on April 10. Midfielder Cam Lindley, goalkeeper Jim Barkei and Jochen Graf are the newest additions to Memphis’ deep roster. Lindley made his debut against Nashville SC in Memphis’ last time out, completing 90 percent of his passes and showing that he could be a factor to connect the defense and attack throughout the remainder of the season. Graf joined 901 FC this week after being acquired from the New York Cosmos. He’s a USL Championship veteran who has 12 goals in the league in the past five seasons. Adding quality players early into the season like this is a boost for any team, so it’ll be interesting to see their impact not only tonight, but throughout the season.

Rested and Recharged
Rested and Recharged
The early season grind is all about avoiding rust and establishing continuity. Memphis is coming off a week in which it did that very thing. Memphis’ bye week was mixed with training sessions and recovery/rest days. The club now enters Saturday rested and recharged as it meets another Eastern Conference foe for the first time. The club also enjoyed a week of some of its top practices of the seasons so all of that combined will be something to watch Saturday at AutoZone Park.

Off the Pitch
Off the Pitch
It will be just as eventful off the pitch Saturday night at AutoZone Park. First, guest of honor and former Memphis Tiger DeAngelo Williams will be Saturday’s guitar smasher. The former All-American, All-Pro and Pro Bowler has been an avid 901 FC supporter and will spotlight his foundation aimed at combating children illiteracy and battling breast cancer. Memphis will also honor another one of its own as forward Heviel Cordovés officially retires from professional soccer. Cordovés will be presented with a signed 901 FC kit by both of his former coaches Tim Mulqueen and Mike Anhaeuser.
