EAST HARTFORD, Connecticut – Memphis 901 FC will look to build off a strong showing over the weekend as the club heads to Connecticut to take on Hartford Athletic on Friday.
Kickoff for tomorrow night’s match is set for 6:00 p.m. CT on CW30 Memphis.
Memphis (1-6-3, 6 pts) is coming off one of its top performances of the season where the club scored twice in a draw with Birmingham Legion FC. The two goals tied a single-match high and the fashion in which they were scored earned widespread praise across the soccer world.
The 2-2 result helped Memphis earn its first point in the Eastern Conference standings since April 6, snapping a four-match losing streak. Memphis now has back-to-back matches with goals in its favor, looking to expand on its recent form. The club has created 31 chances in its past three matches combined, the most during any given timespan this year.
Hartford, a fellow Eastern Conference expansion team, is coming off a draw of its own in the club’s home debut at Rentschler Field. The club had played its previous eight matches on the road, going 0-8 during that stretch. All five of Hartford’s (0-8-1, 1 pt) goals this season have been scored by five different players, including one by former league MVP José Angulo.
Following Friday’s match, 901 FC will head back to Memphis for its Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup match Wednesday, May 15, against New York Red Bulls U-23.
Tickets for that second round match and the May 18 USL Championship matchup against Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC at AutoZone Park are now on sale.
Season tickets, group tickets, and 7 Match Flex Plans are also available for purchase, with full season tickets starting at just $10 per match.
