MEMPHIS, Tennessee – Memphis 901 FC midfielder Cam Lindley has been called-up to train with the United States U-23 men's national soccer team this week in Herriman, Utah.
The gathering in Utah from June 9-16 marks another step in the U-23 MNT’s long journey to the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo as the United States aims to qualify for its first Men’s Olympic Football Tournament since 2008. The U.S. will look to secure its Olympic berth early next year as one of the top two teams at the 2020 CONCACAF Olympic Qualifying Championship.
“We’re extremely proud of Cam and all the hard work he’s put into earning another call-up,” 901 FC Head Coach Tim Mulqueen said. “Representing your country is a great honor, and we know Cam will take every opportunity to grow with the national team.”
This will not be the first time Lindley has earned time with the national team. He’s made a total of 26 appearances for his country including a recent trip to Spain in March with the U-23 squad.
“It’s an absolute honor to join such a great group of players and go through the U.S. system,” Lindley said on Friday. “It’s important as the U-23 squad that we keep pushing the limits and get the group together as we have big hopes of qualifying.”
