Dribble by Leston Paul
After a pair of poor clearances from Sporting Kansas City II defenders, midfielder and captain Leston Paul found the ball at his feet, escaping one defender and putting a nice move on another before getting tripped up for a corner kick. Paul went on to assist Kyle Murphy's 58' goal and led the team in tackles and fouls won.
Goal by Kyle Murphy
Gaining possession at the edge of the box, Leston Paul dished up a perfectly weighted, no-look pass to Kyle Murphy. Calmly and coolly, Murphy rolled the ball between the legs of the keeper to cut the Sporting II lead in half. Murphy went on to assist Kadeem Dacres’ goal in the 64’ to become the first 901 FC player since Dacres on May 23 to record a goal and an assist in a single match.
Goal by Kadeem Dacres
After collecting a long, headed ball from Brecc Evans, Murphy used his size and frame to bully his way down the pitch before slipping a through ball to Kadeem Dacres at the edge of the box who used his speed and momentum to rifle a ball past the keeper in the 64’ to knot things up at two apiece. By the final whistle, Dacres led the team in shots, good crosses, possessions gained and blocks.
Dribble by Laurent Kissiedou
Searching for the equalizer, Laurent Kissiedou took possession of the ball in enemy territory, spinning through and splitting two defenders before firing off a shot. Kissiedou was able to maintain 88.5% passing accuracy and won 80% of his duels in 90 minutes of action.
Shot by Michael Salazar
In the final minutes of the game, Mark Segbers lofted a ball into the box where Michael Salazar executed a nearly perfect bicycle kick if not for a miraculous save by the Kansas City keeper. Salazar had a solid outing as the forward led the team in shots on target and key passes with three apiece.
