MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Memphis 901 FC announced today the addition of New England Revolution loanee, forward Edward Kizza, pending league and federation approval.
The 23-year-old forward played three seasons for the University of Pittsburgh, recording 31 goals, seven assists, and started 52 of 53 games played. Kizza was selected 24th overall by the New England Revolution in the 2020 MLS SuperDraft.
“Edward is a proven goal scorer at the collegiate level, he has transitioned very well into the pro game with New England,” Assistant Sporting Director Caleb Patterson-Sewell said. “He is very strong and has good movement.”
“We did our background checks on Edward and spoke with people who worked with him at a collegiate level and in the pro game, everyone had nothing but good things to say about him as a person and as a player,” Patterson-Sewell added, “We are excited to have Edward joining us here in Memphis.”
The Kampala, Uganda native made 11 appearances with three starts in the 2021 season for the Revolution. Kizza collected one assist and five shots in his appearances.
