Memphis, Tenn – Memphis 901 FC announced the club will exercise the one-year team option for Phillip Goodrum, bringing the forward back to the roster for the 2023 USL Championship season, pending league and federation approval.
The Nashville, Tenn. native dazzled in his first season in Memphis, setting the single-season club record for goals scored with 22, including a score in the club’s first ever postseason win.
Goodrum earned All-League First Team honors after finishing second in the race for the Golden Boot, averaging a goal every 121 minutes on the pitch while notching seven assists in 34 total starts as 901 FC finished second in the Eastern Conference standings.
“We are excited to have Phil back with us for the 2023 season. He had a fantastic season and is an incredible player for us,” Assistant Sporting Director Caleb Patterson-Sewell said. “Outside of his scoring contributions, his work rate and personality are massive for our group. We look forward to Phil having continued success in 2023.”
