Memphis, Tenn. – A goal in each half ended in a 1-1 tie in Saturday’s Louisville City FC at Memphis 901 FC match held at AutoZone Park.
901 FC conceded a goal in the 9th minute to go down early. The club dominated possession throughout the game and equalized in the 51st minute after Luiz Fernando found the back of the net.
It was Fernando’s second goal of the season. The Brazilian native’s shot was the first goal Lousivlle has conceded in its last four USL Championship matches. He joins Bruno Lapa as the second Beale St. Boy with a pair of goals in 2023.
In the 68th minute Phillip Goodrum put the ball in the net again, but the point was no good due to an offsides call. Memphis finished the match 17 total shots to Louisville’s nine.
901 FC moved to 2-2-3 with the draw and earned a hard-fought point at home. Memphis 901 FC travels to face Hartford Athletic for its second road game this season on Saturday, May 6 at 6 p.m. CT.
