Memphis, Tenn. – Memphis 901 FC extended their unbeaten streak to 11 with a 4-0 statement victory over FC Tulsa on Saturday night at AutoZone Park, giving the club its sixth win in seven matches.
The Beale St. Boys earned a season sweep of Tulsa with the victory thanks to a forced own goal from Rodrigo da Costa and scores from Rashawn Dally, Jelani Peters and Emerson Hyndman in his first start of the season.
901 FC found early pressure with Hyndman, da Costa and Laurent Kissiedou and broke through when Dally found space behind the Tulsa defense to deliver a cross near post toward da Costa, whose pressure forced the Tulsa defender to put the ball in the back of the net.
Five minutes later, Memphis was back in the Tulsa box as da Costa returned the favor, feeding the ball to Dally to finish his second goal of the season.
Memphis kept their foot on the gas in the second half and took no time to add to their lead as Emerson Hyndman answered the bell in his first start with a spectacular strike 25 yards out in the 48th minute.
Jelani Peters finished off the victory with a header to make the score 4-0 and leave no doubt in a three-point result for 901 FC.
Memphis moved up to 7-2-4 and No. 3 in the Eastern Conference with a +17 goal differential since their last regular season loss on March 18. The Beale St. Boy’s depth has shown in the run with 12 different players scoring goals and 11 assisting others in scores.
Memphis 901 FC finishes their three-match week on Saturday, June 24 as they host Ben Pirmann and Charleston Battery in a matchup of top Eastern Conference teams at AutoZone Park. Kickoff for the matchup is set for 7:30 p.m. CT.
