Memphis, Tenn. – Memphis 901 fell to San Antonio 4-0 in their fourth loss of the season on Friday night at AutoZone Park.
901 FC fell victim to a career night from San Antonio forward Tani Oluwaseyi, who grabbed a hat trick in the first half to push the visitors past Memphis. The Beale St. Boys suffered consecutive losses for the first time since the first two matches of the season.
San Antonio claimed three scores within 35 minutes to build their lead in the first half despite Memphis holding most of the possession and knocking on the door with five shots on target.
San Antonio extended their lead with a goal in the 50th minute. Memphis moved to 8-4-4 in the regular season with 28 points, sitting at No. 4 in the Eastern Conference standings.
Memphis 901 FC embarks on a two-match West Coast tour next week, starting with a midweek match at Oakland Roots SC on Wednesday, July 12 at 9 p.m. CT before facing Sacramento Republic FC on Saturday, July 15.
