Sacramento, Calif. – Memphis 901 FC played to a 1-1 draw with Western Conference leading Sacramento Republic FC on Saturday night at Heart Health Stadium.
The Beale Street Boys used the connection of midseason acquisitions Rodrigo da Costa and Emerson Hyndman to grab a point in Sacramento for a second half go-ahead goal.
Memphis turned in a strong first half holding 63% of the possession while forcing three saves from the Sacramento goalkeeper with seven scoring chances.
901 FC broke through in the 49th minute of the match when da Costa found Hyndman on a linkup up play to get past the strong Sacramento defense and beat the keeper on one touch. Hyndman scored his second goal with the Beale St. Boys while da Costa tallied his fourth assist of the season, tying Night Pickering for the most on the team this season.
Memphis moved to 8-4-6 with the draw and sit at No. 4 in the Eastern Conference with only one loss in eight matches on the road this season
901 FC returns to AutoZone Park for their next match on Saturday, July 22 to host Orange County SC at 7:30 p.m. CT.
