Leesburg, Va. – Memphis 901 FC earned a hard-fought point with a scoreless draw to Loudoun United FC on Wednesday at Segra Field.
The Beale Street Boys had 11 shots in the match, but couldn’t find the back of the net as they controlled possession for most of the second half. Memphis put together a strong defensive performance holding Loudoun to two shots inside the box and preventing a single shot on goal.
Carson Vom Steeg led the team with three shots in today’s matchup in his return to his old club after six weeks away with injury. Aaron Molloy tallied six chances created to lead the club. The midfielder leads the league with 57 this season.
Memphis sits at No. 5 in the Eastern Conference table with an 8-6-7 record as they jockey for home field advantage in the postseason. With 13 matches remaining in the season, 901 FC holds matches in hand over the top teams in the conference.
