Memphis, Tenn. – Memphis 901 FC fell to Monterey Bay F.C. 1-0 in a hard-fought interconference match at AutoZone Park on Saturday night.
The Beale Street Boys poured in a season-high 23 shots and forced seven saves but couldn’t find the back of the net as they were held scoreless for just the fourth time in 14 matches at AutoZone Park this season.
Memphis fell behind after a delayed handball call in the box gave Monterey Bay a penalty kick converted by Alex Dixon in the 31st minute.
With six games remaining in the regular season, Memphis sits at No. 5 in the Eastern Conference with their 11-8-9 record in square position to compete for a home match in the first round of the playoffs
Memphis’ three-match homestand continues as they host Hartford Athletic on Saturday, September 16 at 7 p.m. CT at AutoZone Park.
