Memphis came out with strong pressure in the second half and found instant chances resulting in their only goal of the night in the 51st minute. Aaron Molloy found Carson Vom Steeg free in the box on his corner kick, giving the defender a perfect serve for a header and his first goal of the season. Molloy tallied his team-leading eighth assist of the season on the set piece.
New Mexico would answer quickly, however, notching another goal 10 minutes later and again in the 71st minute to put the match away
