MEMPHIS, Tennessee – Four Memphis 901 FC players have been called-up by their national teams, the club announced Thursday.
Defender Triston Hodge, midfielder Leston Paul and forward Duane Muckette were all called-up to play for Trinidad & Tobago in the team’s March 20 international friendly against Wales.
Teammate and 901 FC midfielder Adam Najem also received an international call-up to the Afghanistan National Team as the team prepares for a four-team mini-tournament in Malaysia.
Najem and the Afghanistan will open against Oman on March 20 and play an additional match on March 23.
Memphis head coach Tim Mulqueen said it’s quite an honor to see four of his players represent their respective nations.
“I’m really excited for Triston, Leston, Duane and Adam,” Mulqueen said Thursday. “It’s a tremendous honor to represent your country.
“Those are the type of people we want to bring to Memphis, players who are experienced on the international stage. We hope we can help in their development in that arena and wish them nothing but the best.”
All four 901 FC players who earned call-ups have prior experience at the international level. Najem received a call-up in August 2018 with Afghanistan.
Paul and Hodge have more than a dozen caps and played in Trinidad & Tobago’s 2-1 win over the United States in World Cup qualifying in 2017. Muckette also earned an international call-up back in 2018.
Memphis 901 FC returns to AutoZone Park on Saturday, March 16 when the club welcomes Loudoun United FC to town. Kickoff for that match is slated for 7:00 p.m.
Single match tickets for that match and all home matches in March and April are now on sale.
