MEMPHIS, Tennessee – Forward Oliver White has signed with Memphis 901 FC, the club announced Friday.
Pending league and federation approval, White will add immediate depth to Memphis’ attacking core early into the 2019 season.
Memphis 901 FC head coach Tim Mulqueen praised the young forward for his work ethic and finishing abilities.
“We’re very happy to add Oliver to our attacking group,” Mulqueen said Friday. “He has great pace and an uncanny knack to finish his shots around the goal.
“He’s a quality player, person and we’re happy to have him as a part of our team.”
White is a former Ivy League standout at Harvard (2012-16) where he registered nine career goals and notched five assists (23 total points).
The Boston, Massachusetts native most recently played for Kingston City FC in Australia’s National Premier Leagues Victoria before returning stateside. He played for FC Bulleen Lions in the National Premier Leagues Victoria 2 before heading to Kingston City FC.
White is also a former USL League Two product, briefly playing with FC Boston (now Boston Bolts).
White holds dual-citizenship in the United States and Jamaica and was a prominent prep soccer player in his native Massachusetts. He was named the 2012 Massachusetts Gatorade Soccer Player of the Year, won multiple championships at Noble and Greenough and earned player of the year honors in 2010 and 2011.
“Oliver is a good young striker,” 901 FC Sporting Director Andrew Bell said. “He’s got great potential and I look forward to watching him develop under the guidance of Coach Mulqueen.”
