Memphis, Tenn. – Memphis 901 FC defender Jelani Peters was named to the USL Championship Team of the Week for Week 16 of the 2023 regular season, the league announced on Tuesday.
Peters earns his first Team of the Week honor after recording a goal in the club’s 4-0 victory over FC Tulsa and planted himself as a key defensive piece as Memphis grabbed seven points in seven days. The Trinidad and Tobago international won 14 of 18 duels and 6 of 7 aerial duels while blocking four shots and making seven clearances.
Rashawn Dally grabbed Team of the Week honorable mention after two strong starts in the club’s victories over Tulsa and Charleston with two goals and an assist over the week. The forward has three goals in four starts this season in his third stint with 901 FC.
Memphis moved up to 8-2-4 with the two-win week with their unbeaten streak extending to 12 matches, the longest streak in club history. The Beale St. Boys hold the best goal differential in the Eastern Conference this season, outscoring their opponents by 14 goals.
Memphis 901 FC will be featured in the USL Championship game of the week on ESPN 2 as they travel to face Phoenix Rising FC on Saturday, July 1 at 10 p.m. CT.
