Memphis, Tenn. – Memphis 901 FC’s Akeem Ward and Aaron Molloy earned USL Championship Team of the Week honorable mention for Week 22 after the club’s victory over Indy Eleven.
Akeem Ward grabs his third honor of the season after putting away the game-winning score in the club’s victory in Indianapolis. His second goal of the season snapped a seven-game winless streak for the Beale Street Boys. The defender leads the team with 37 interceptions and 36 tackles won this season.
Aaron Molloy tabbed his fourth Team of the Week appearance with his team-leading sixth assist to Lucas Turci to open scoring on Saturday in Indianapolis. Last season’s MVP runner-up leads the USL Championship with 57 chances created and has worn the captain’s armband in 21 of 22 matches for Memphis this season.
Memphis 901 FC sits at No. 5 in the Eastern Conference standings as they head to the West Coast to take on San Diego Loyal SC in an interconference matchup on Saturday, August 12 at 9 p.m. CT.
