Memphis, Tenn. – Memphis 901 FC’s Drew Romig and Rodrigo Da Costa were named USL Championship Team of the Week Honorable Mentions for Week 22 after key performances in a 1-0 victory over San Diego Loyal SC.
Romig’s best performance of the season featured four saves on four shots faced, including a diving full stretch save on a penalty kick that kept the match scoreless. Romig notched his fourth clean sheet as the Beale Street Boys moved their unbeaten streak to three.
The goalkeeper’s heroics made way for Da Costa to deliver the game winner. The Brazilian attacker scored his team-leading ninth goal of the season to grab the win that pulling 901 FC back into the top four in the Eastern Conference as they battle for postseason home field advantage.
The Beale Street Boys are back to their winning ways with two consecutive victories over playoff-level clubs on the road. Memphis has been one of the top road teams in the league this season with only two losses in 12 matches away from AutoZone Park.
Memphis 901 FC will enjoy a bye week before returning to AutoZone Park to host Indy Eleven on Wednesday, August 23 at 7 p.m. CT.
