Memphis, Tenn. – The USL Championship announced on Thursday Rodrigo Da Costa has been nominated for USL Championship Player of the Month in September.
The Brazilian attacker poured in five goals in six matches in September, including his first career hat trick in a 4-2 victory over the Tampa Bay Rowdies that clinched the Beale Street Boy’s third straight playoff season.
Da Costa now ranks sixth in the league with 15 goals this season, surpassing his previous individual season high of 11. He is two scores away from reaching the half-century mark in career goals scored in the USL Championship.
Voting for the award runs through 11 p.m. CT on Monday, October 9. The award is determined by three segments of votes between fans, media and the USL Technical Committee.
901 FC plays their final regular season home game on Saturday, October 7 when El Paso Locomotive comes to town for an interconference matchup. A victory along with a Louisville loss on Saturday gives 901 FC home field advantage in the first round of the postseason.
