Memphis 901 FC Acquires Mo Adams on Loan, Signs Jacob Houser-Ramsey
MEMPHIS, Tennessee – Memphis 901 FC has acquired midfielder Mo Adams on loan from the Chicago Fire and has signed defender Jacob Hauser-Ramsey, the club announced Thursday.
Both players will be added to Memphis’ active roster pending league and federation approval.
Adams is a former No. 10 overall pick in the 2018 MLS SuperDraft and made 10 starts in his debut season with the Fire. The Nottingham, England native played for USL League Two side Reading United AC prior to be drafted by the Fire along with Boston United from 2015-16.
“Mo Adams is an exceptional player that I’ve tracked for a number of years,” 901 FC head coach Tim Mulqueen said. “He’s a starter in Major League Soccer so we expect him to come here and have a big influence both on and off the pitch not only in his play, but in his leadership.”
Adams spent his youth career with English professional sides Nottingham Forrest (2008-13) and Derby County (2013-15) prior to playing a season collegiately at Syracuse University.
He was named team captain for the Orange and scored once in 16 appearances in his lone season in upstate New York. Adams earned All-Atlantic Coast Conference Second Team honors along with being an academic standout off the pitch.

Elliot Collier Earns USL Team of the Week Honors
MEMPHIS, Tennessee – Memphis 901 FC Forward Elliot Collier earned USL Championship Team of the Week honors Tuesday following a standout performance during Memphis’ 1-1 draw over the weekend.
The New Zealand native scored his first goal of the season and the first goal in 901 FC history on Saturday in the club’s 1-1 draw with Loudoun United FC in front of 7,250 fans at AutoZone Park.
The goal helped Memphis rally back from a 1-0 halftime deficit to earn the first point in club history.
“Being down a goal, we had to push even harder than we were in the first half,” Collier said Saturday. “We committed a lot more to our pressing tactics and came out with a goal.
“They weren’t able to stop us in the end. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to get another one. A point is a start and we’ll use that moving forward.”
Collier and 901 FC will be back in action this weekend with their first road match Sunday, March 24 against Bethlehem Steel FC (1-1-0, 3 pts).

International Call-Ups Looking to Make Memphis Proud
MEMPHIS, Tennessee – Two national anthems will play on opposite corners of the world Wednesday.
And while both will take place during two very different international friendlies, they both will share one thing in common; Memphis 901 FC.
Four 901 FC players will represent their countries in friendlies Wednesday in yet another historic mark for the new club.
Defender Triston Hodge, midfielder Leston Paul and forward Duane Muckette will represent Trinidad & Tobago while Memphis teammate and midfielder Adam Najem will suit-up for Afghanistan.
Wednesday will be the first time that 901 FC has been represented on an international level.
For players like Leston Paul, these call-ups send a clear message to soccer fans in the Bluff City.
“It shows that we have a good thing going,” Paul said. “We have a big future ahead.
“To have guys representing their national teams will only benefit Memphis. Hopefully we can bring back that experience and have a better season throughout the year.
All four players have had more than two-dozen call-ups combined, but each cap feels as special as the first.
“Playing for your national team, for any country, is a great honor,” Najem said. “Not many players during their career can say they’ve had an opportunity to represent their country.
“It’s another stage in my career that I take very seriously and I’m always happy to get that opportunity.”
Najem will get that opportunity twice this week as the Afghan national team plays in a four-team tournament in Malaysia.
“This is not only big for me, but also big for the team as a whole as we get closer to Asia and World Cup qualifying,” Najem said. “It’s important for us to get as many games as we can and build that chemistry on and off the field.
“Representing your country in one game is more than enough. But the opportunity to play two games in a country such as Malaysia is an awesome experience.”
All four players departed for their respective destinations Sunday.
The Wales v. Trinidad & Tobago match will be available for viewing at 2:45 p.m. CT on Sky Sports Football and available for stream on NowTV.

Memphis 901 FC Earns First Point in Club History with Saturday Night Draw
MEMPHIS, Tennessee – This week wasn’t easy for Memphis 901 FC forward Elliot Collier.
Following terrorist attacks in his native New Zealand, Collier spent the past 48 hours surrounded by the comfort of his teammates in Memphis as he watched developments from Christchurch.
“It was very tough,” Collier said. “I actually had a friend that I played with, I found out this morning that didn’t make it through his surgery.
“The team has been great. They’re always there asking if I need anyone to talk to, trying to keep my mind off it, keep me positive and keep me locked in for the game.”
On Saturday night, with a black armband on his right upper-arm, Collier scored a historic goal for his club while paying tribute to his country.
“It was a huge goal for the club, tying the game and also for my country,” Collier said. “That’s why I had the black band for this game. I knew today that I was going to score for them.”
Collier’s goal helped Memphis rally back from a 1-0 halftime deficit to Loudoun United FC (0-1-1, 1 pt) at home and helped 901 FC (0-1-1, 1 pt) earn the first point in club history.
For head coach Tim Mulqueen, Collier’s goal was important on many levels.
“I’m proud of the boys and I’m proud of the club for getting the first point in club history and Elliot (Collier) getting the first goal in club history,” Mulqueen said. “A lot of firsts tonight and we’re proud to be a part of it.”
Collier spent a majority of the post-match reflecting on his week and how meaningful Saturday night’s result in front of 7,250 fans at AutoZone Park was.
“It’s been a rough past couple of days,” Collier said. “That’s been something that I had to deal with. But it doesn’t change the fact that I’m out here to do what I got to do and score goals and play this game and do it for Memphis.”
Collier and 901 FC will now hit the road for more than three weeks with their first road match Sunday, March 24, against Bethlehem Steel FC (1-1-0, 3 pts).

Sold-Out Crowd Welcomes Pro Soccer to AutoZone Park Saturday Night
MEMPHIS, Tennessee – In front of a sold-out crowd of 8,062 fans at AutoZone Park, Memphis 901 FC brought the passion for pro soccer back to the City of Memphis on Saturday night.
Despite a 1-0 loss to the Tampa Bay Rowdies, the atmosphere was electric from the moment gates opened Saturday evening in downtown Memphis.
From the first whistle, the sounds of drums and chants showered 901 FC players as they took the pitch for the very first time.
Tampa broke through first in the fourth minute after an early penalty call. Midfielder Sebastián Guenzatti converted from the spot to put the visitors up 1-0.
An aggressive Memphis attack kept creating chance after chance with midfielder Wes Charpie nearly converting a bicycle kick to equalize deep inside the box.
Near misses by forward Rashawn Dally and Elliot Collier kept Tampa on its toes for much of the first half as the visitors took a 1-0 lead into the locker rooms.
Memphis came back into the second half and resumed physical play on both sides of the pitch. Goalkeeper Jeff Caldwell showed off his athleticism with save after save, but it wasn’t enough as Memphis fell in the end.
Despite the final score, 901 FC head coach Tim Mulqueen saw progress in his young squad.
“I think it’s unfortunate, the goal we concede three minutes in, but I’m very pleased with the effort,” Mulqueen said. “If we compete and play like this, most nights we are going to walk out with three points.”
